Project for ambulances in the mountains

The project stems from a recent campaign on the issue of health care in the mountains, with numerous newspaper articles and meetings of organizations and institutions that have greatly interested the municipality of Sondrio. The recent occurrence of serious cases of Covid, in particular fatal heart attacks, in remote mountain areas and at times when the rescue helicopter could not fly, has highlighted the seriousness of the healthcare situation, as there are not even ambulances available that are adequately equipped to treat patients during the remote journey. Our province, which is entirely mountainous, has serious difficulties compared to lowland areas, such as long distances, poor roads, problems of accessibility during the winter season and the impracticality of using helicopters.
